DAY 2

Very early before sunrise with the sounds of the rainforest. We go on the boat up the Tambopata River to reach the area of the MACAW CLAY LICK located in the heart of the Tambopata National Reserve. Along the way we can spot some wildlife such as capybaras, white caimans, egrets, herons, fishing eagles. This is a great opportunity to look for the biggest cat in South America. Jaguars rarely can be seen on the side of Tambopata River in the Tambopata National Reserve.

Once up on the area of el CHUNCHO MACAW CLAY LICK we walk carefully to reach the area where we are going to watch the birds.

Macaws tend to have monogamous behaviors and they arrive from very early until late in the morning. We estimate dozens to come to the clay lick. It’s know macaws and most of the animals in Tambopata visit these cliffs to gain extra minerals for their diets made of fruits and seeds. These minerals are rich in sodium portions. Other mineral sources are magnesium, zinc, and potassium.

The Aras arrive to the area and they site on top of the trees near the cliff and hang out and wait for the accurate  moment. Quietly they start to come down and fill the cliff with theirs colorful figures while they also eat chunks of clay. The high pick of the activity sights dozens of them on the cliff.

Picnic breakfast is served when we are waiting for the birds.

There are other activities we can enjoy such us bird watching and footprints tracking.

On the way back we have the second chance to find a Jaguar before we leave the Tambopata National Reserve.

We’ll serve lunch before our journey back to Puerto Maldonado.

Additional Information

This is a long form text area designed for your content that you can fill up with as many words as your heart desires. You can write articles, long mission statements, company policies, executive profiles, company awards/distinctions, office locations, shareholder reports, whitepapers, media mentions and other pieces of content that don’t fit into a shorter, more succinct space. Articles – Good topics for articles include anything related to your company – recent changes to operations, the latest company softball game – or the industry you’re in. General business trends (think national and even international) are great article fodder, too. Mission statements – You can tell a lot about a company by its mission statement. Don’t have one? Now might be a good time to create one and post it here. A good mission statement tells you what drives a company to do what it does. Company policies – Are there company policies that are particularly important to your business? Perhaps your unlimited paternity/maternity leave policy has endeared you to employees across the company. This is a good place to talk about that. Executive profiles – A company is only as strong as its executive leadership. This is a good place to show off who’s occupying the corner offices. Write a nice bio about each executive that includes what they do, how long they’ve been at it, and what got them to where they are.
